My favorite moment? We were all watching the parade from chairs along Mass Ave when little mister Thing 1 looked down the street, saw the British militia marching toward us, and said "Uh-oh." ;)

However, The Boy came flying up the stairs and through my headphones, I heard something like "you . . . see replay . . . Ellsbury . . . stole home!" !!!
I rushed downstairs to catch the replay. As I saw him (almost trip &) slide over the plate, I kept thinking "The Jet stole home! The Jet stole home!"

And in answer to the obvious question, no, I have not become a stripper. I'm not entirely sure why I had so many ones in my jean pocket!

This song was on WFNX the other day and can you believe? I somehow thought it was brand new. It seemed like a fun new take on cheesy 1980s pop. Then I looked it up online, found this video on Youtube, and realized that it really was just cheesy '80s pop.
This video is seriously amazing, you guys. The inexplicably pink sky! The feathered hair! The weird shuttered balcony set! The slow-mo drinking montages! Trust me - you do not want to miss this.

"I think the real trick to finding that sense of satisfaction is to realize you don’t need much to attain it. A window-box salad garden and a mandolin hanging on the back of the door can be all the freedom you need. If it isn’t everything you want for the future, let it be enough for tonight. Living the way you want has nothing to do with how much land you have or how much you can afford to spend on a new house. It has to do with the way you choose to live every day and how content you are with what you have.
If a few things on your plate every season came from the work of your own hands, you are creating food for your body, and that is enough. If your landlord can be sweet-talked into some small backyard projects, go for it with gusto. If you rode your bike to work, trained your dog to pack, or just baked a loaf of bread, let it be enough. Accepting where you are today — and working toward what’s ahead — is the best you can do . . . Find your own happiness and dance with it."
It's from an article written by Jenna Woginrich for Mother Earth News. Jenna has a blog called Cold Antler Farm, which I've been following for a few months now. Her philosophy here on living more greenly is one I've always been a fan of. As individuals, we can't do everything, but that shouldn't prevent us from doing something.
As for us, we'll be walking or biking to work this summer, making regular trips to the Portsmouth farmer's market, and planting a window-box herb garden. For now, it's enough.

As the photo above (from the estimable Superpoop) makes clear, it was less exciting than the original.
(The title is how Mr. Warrick is described in his bio on the tea party's website. His is accompanied by those of a few other fine, upstanding Cincinnati citizen speakers. However, their political credentials are a little thin. I think The Boy said it best: "They're not exactly the Founding Fathers, are they?"

Anyways, it's been a busy week & I have exciting wedding news. However, today's a busy day, so that will have to keep for a little bit. In the meantime, The Boy & I have an awesome night planned: dinner at Red Hook & then a little G. Love and Special Sauce at Hampton Beach! :)
