2013, Week #32

First full week home from vacation.  You can hear the PEI homesickness in some of the captions.  ;)  Here are my photos from August 4-11:

Well, it's not PEI, but it's not too bad, is it, puppies?

Still a few more tweaks needed but, here's an "after" shot of the patio. I'll see if I can dig up the"before."

Again, not PEI, but not so bad.

CSA joy (and a wooden bowl three lovely ladies gave me long ago).

Another "not PEI, but not so bad" moment today.

Saturday morning backyard.

Om nom nom.

More weekend backyard bliss.

Love my sister's new screen porch.

2013, Week #31

Last week of vacation.  Rainy to start, but it cleared up mid-week and we did a ton of stuff!  Here is July 29-August 4:

Rainy these last few days, but lots of time for snuggling & reading!

Poor Justin's sick but was game for a little beach time regardless.

Monkeys at the shore after supper with Auntie, Uncle, and the puppies.

Just nothing else like it.

Crazy dramatic clouds!

Just having a feed of mussels at the park's family fun day, nbd.

Happy lady in the trees.

Auntie and her boys on vacay.

I think the sun's gone to our heads.

The view from our bed.

Cutie boy @ the beach.

Little nugget asked for his picture to be taken.

Yet another sunset, booooring.

Biking on PEI means little ponds in the woods . . .

And lanes lined with birch & pine . . .

And wonderful old farmhouses next to horse chestnut trees.

Guernsey Cove is too lovely.

We went to an amusement park and enjoyed the rides as much, if not more, than our nephews.

The view out the window at Malpeque Oyster Barn.

Heaven at Malpeque Oyster Barn.

Devouring his first mussels ever.

At their great-great-great uncles' and great-great-great grandparents' graves.

Thing 2 exploring at his great-great grandparents' cottage lot.

Unreal sunset on our last night - PEI must have known it was our last for a year.

Bye for another year, lighthouse!

Sadie taking her last looks and smells of PEI and a Beorn photo bomb.

2013, Week #30

Full vacation photos now.  Here they are, from July 22-28:

That view.

Breakfast with a view.

Snuggly pup on the porch.

Checking the clothes on the line while wearing his Cows shirt - Thing 1's on PEI!

Uncle and Thing 2 starting a game of Zingo.

All tuckered out.

Still life with shells and sunset.

Oh you know, just an average day at Cape Bear (with a little artificial flash to brighten up the foreground). No bigs.

The boys.

Thing 1 reading Archie comics at the PEI cottage - a tradition continues.

2013, Week #29

Back from vacation on PEI and had a wonderful time (as usual)!  Here are the photos from July 15-21, the week before we left and the first two days on the Island:

Sadie hanging on the patio like a good, not-running-away pup.

My little boy, all curled up last night.

The view up from the patio.

So much top tier progress this week before we left! Go Justin!

Summer study #1.

Summer study #2.

Future tattoo (with degree & minute marks added).  It's the coordinates of a meaningful place on PEI.

15 days worth of clothes. Summer packing is so much easier than winter packing.

The house plants at patio summer camp!

Healthy snack for the road!

So happy to be here!

Reading time this afternoon.

Rough life, huh, puppies?
