2013, Week #52 (and 1/2)

This is the final week for this project - how exciting!  It actually encompasses a little over a week (December 23-31) in order to finish out the year completely.  Enjoy!

Justin attempting to solve the Christmas rubix cube I got him in his stocking.

Beorn and his rawhide antler.

Reading a new book - a sight to warm his auntie's heart.

And off to Scotland on Boxing Day!  This suitcase epitomizes efficient packing: 7 sweaters, lots of thick socks, jeans, black pants, leggings, underwear, a full toiletry bag, and a bottle of booze - all in a medium-sized suitcase.

Missed this view (Edinburgh Castle from the Grassmarket).

First pub ever visited in Edinburgh, a decade ago (gave it a miss this time).

Justin & Edinburgh Castle - two class acts.

Gorgeous city.

View from balcony cafe at the National Museum (Victorian wing).

Awesome animals at the National Museum.

My favorite carnyx.

Chambers St. is pretty in the rain (good thing).

Favorite present for baby Eleanor from the Edinburgh Christmas market.

A very Happy, Blurry, Sober New Year's from Blackford Hill!

2013, Week #51

Here we go into Christmas!  Here are the images from December 16-22:

Love this time of year. Taking comfort in the little things.

This year's present to friends & family - dark chocolate peppermint fudge!

"Changing the Present" event for local non-profits at my museum. A chance for shoppers to buy a membership or promotional item and support local worthy organizations.

Got an awesome evening planned.

Justin's new job celebration dinner.

Aaaaand the remains of Justin's new job celebration dinner.

2013, Week #50

Almost there!  Here are the photos from December 9-15:

3 cheers for going into work late on snowy, cold mornings. Look at the puppy cuteness I would have missed!

First real snow!

I know I posted one like it yesterday, but look at all this cute puppy snuggling!

Work baking.

Old & new, in a meta sense.

Courtyard urn at work.

Light hammock in the snow.

The blanket may have been my idea, but Sadie highly approves.

Bokeh.

The boys.

Foot snuggler.

Just hanging at the top of the tree.

It was her late great-grandmother's, but I don't think anyone will mind if Baby Eleanor gets this next Christmas.

All are snuggly & warm tonight.

2013, Week #48

The little Knight House in the evening light (snapped while taking out the trash).

First ever homemade pie crust and first ever GF pie crust!

Potato peeling view.

Sun seeking Sadie.

Table setting.

Will and the puppy kids.

Tree seeking!

The tree at home.

This puppy's sleeping positions are perennially entertaining.

2013, Weeks #45 & #46

Tap, tap, is this thing on?  Just aiming for the finish line now on the 52 weeks of photos.  Here are the ones from November 4-17:

First ever attempt at tiling! The bit around the outlet is kind of a shit show, but the wall plate will cover most of it (we think).

Couldn't get a straight-on shot without sitting on top of the fridge, but here it is mostly done! Next up is grout, caulk, and replacing outlet covers.

Grouting makes everything look way worse . . .

. . . until it makes it look way better. Still some neatening up to do, though.

Love the new backsplash.

Can't. Stop. posting photos of the tile.

Pregnancy selfie at the request of others, I swear!

The end of Labor-in-Vain Road at sunset.

My night is fancier than your night (at The Breakers for a New England Museum Association conference opening party).

Want this bathroom.

Fancy candid.

Work night.

Rough life.

Don't blink. Don't even blink.

Bingo at a local bar.  As the announcer said, "You all know the directions.  It's as simple as it seems."

Triple P - pajamas, puppies, and patio on a warm November Saturday.

East, west, home's best.

Oh, this puppy.
